Shipping
We source, store, blend, transport and deliver a range of raw materials to clients around the world. Today, the opportunities for growth in the commodities sector are greater than ever. In the oil industry for example, large integrated producers have merged, medium sized companies have left the market while others are moving away from the vertically integrated model altogether. Major producers themselves have turned their attention to upstream exploration and production, reducing their involvement in distribution. For Orin Energy, this represents a period in which to further develop growth and extend our commitment service offerings to our customers
We trade in crude oil and refined products. We source crude oil and oil products from a range of suppliers, with additional interests in oil and gas production sharing contracts from around the globe. Our network of trading offices, ideally located in all the major oil trading regions, allows us to identify changing crude oil flows and evolving market dynamics.
Partnering with upstream producers
Our market-leading team combines specialist knowledge with global expertise. Over many years we have established long-term relationships with national oil companies, oil majors and independent producers. We use our expertise in managing transportation via pipeline, barge, train, truck and all sizes of vessel to efficiently and reliably transport crude to refiners worldwide.
Collaboration with refiners
Today, we have over 8 million barrels per month supply contract per month of crude oil and feedstocks to the refining industry mainly in the Far East. We take the time to understand the specific requirements and preferences of refiners worldwide and have a long track record of consistently and reliably sourcing the right feedstock to meet our customers’ needs at the right time.
We currently have affiliates with five refineries in the Far East with a total refining capacity of 210,000 barrels per day.
Distribution Commitments
Shipping and distribution are at the core of the business; shipping raw materials to where they can be refined or processed and then used, or transported to areas where there is a deficit.
For crude oil, this means shipping crude in large tankers to refineries, and then shipping the refined product to where it is consumed.
Orin Energy work very closely with ship owners and ship brokers on a daily basis in order to meet our delivery commitments.
